DENVER, Colo.. (Feb. 25, 2020) – Element3 Health today announced that caregiver support company Homethrive will now leverage Element3 Health’s robust national network of activity clubs to help people who are aging in place build social and emotional connections and stay physically active.
Nearly 29% of American adults serve as unpaid caregivers to one or more family members, creating stress for the caregivers that results in lost productivity for those caregivers’ employers. The U.S. economy suffers an estimated $25.2 billion annually in lost productivity from adults serving as unpaid caregivers for aging families.
Meanwhile, research has found that social isolation carries a health risk equivalent of smoking 15 cigarettes a day. Element3 Health seeks to help older Americans live healthier lives by enabling the strong social bonds that influence physical, emotional and cognitive health.
